Loving Thy Neighbor, and living by the Golden Rule, are not only American values,
they are values of people all around the world.
Living by your values means not only believing in them but also showing them through your actions and words. In today's
media-saturated world, it's important to critically evaluate what we consume and ensure it aligns with our values. Media can
present various perspectives, some of which may resonate with our beliefs, others may make us feel safe by creating an “us
vs. them” mentality. When this happens, it is important to remember that “them” are human beings that deserve the same
respect, compassion and dignity that we want for “us”. They are our neighbors.
The Love Thy Neighbor, America, and its merchandise, is intended to start conversations among neighbors, friends and
other people. It’s message should remind us, and those seeing us, that no matter what media/politics/religions we are drawn
to, we all believe in Loving Thy Neighbor. We all believe in the Golden Rule. As we have conversations with people who
seem different, we must listen, learn from, collaborate with, and love. Think about it. Speak about it. Act upon it.
